THIS COST ME is a web service for sending a sealed private message with an amount you choose. You write your own words or pick a predefined message, choose the amount, and pay. You get a private link to send to one person, plus a separate shareable image. When they open the link they first see a sealed message addressed to them, then your words and the amount you chose. The recipient gets the message, not the money.

Frequently asked questions
Does the recipient get the money?
No. They receive the private link and message. Payments go to THIS COST ME.
What exactly am I paying for?
You are paying for a sealed private reveal: they open the link, see the seal, reveal your words and see the amount you chose. After payment, the words, amount and exact locked time are kept together in the original. You also get a separate shareable image of your message.
Can I keep it off the WALL?
Yes. Every message gets a private recipient link. A site message can be kept off the WALL by turning the option off before payment.
What can appear publicly?
Only an unchanged message supplied by THIS COST ME, plus the paid amount, locked time, TCM ID, the seal and VERIFY ORIGINAL. No names or personal free-text.
What happens if I edit a site message?
It immediately becomes personal words and stays private. WALL turns off and the public option disappears.
What does VERIFY certify?
It confirms the paid record, amount, currency, locked time, locked provenance integrity and deterministic seal. It does not certify that the message itself is true.
Does a bigger amount get more visibility?
No. WALL records are published by recency, never ranked by amount.
Can the recipient request takedown?
Yes. Privacy, reporting and takedown routes remain available for records that concern someone.
What happens after payment?
After Stripe confirms payment, THIS COST ME creates the private link, TCM ID, locked provenance record, the seal, VERIFY record and a shareable image of your message. You get the private link and send it to the recipient yourself. The recipient does not need an account to open it. If eligible and selected, the message also appears anonymously on the WALL.
